Noto Peninsula Earthquake

Noto Peninsula Earthquake

As many of you now know, there was a terrible earthquake in Japan on New Year's day 2024, up north along the Japan Sea, particularly bad in Ishikawa, Toyama, and Niigata.

At first, it seemed like we might escape it without tremendous damage being done, but as the reports began to come in, 7.6 magnitude with aftershocks felt along the region, we felt reminded of the 2011 quake and tsunami that left so much destruction in its wake.

At that time, too, we felt powerless to offer any real aid. Doing what we could, checking in on loved ones, packing water and petrol and blankets into boxes to send north, felt like drops in an impossibly large bucket.

This month we'll be donating a percentage of all sales to JRCS (the Japanese Red Cross) who was quick to respond and is working in the region. We are a tiny company and though we feel powerless still, these are our drops for this bucket. We'd appreciate it if you can share this post with friends.

Thank you for your support.
